The park has always had problems with standing
water from a lack of drainage, so Snider
Construction Company installed a large diameter,
perimeter drainage system along our  south and
east boundary lines.  This not only helped the
Park, but it also helped a couple of our neighbors
who often had standing water also.
The Lions Club park had never, in
it's long history, had a parking lot.
A narrow drive leading up to the
clubhouse and looping back on
itself (like the eye of a needle) was
the only solid surface for vehicles
in the park.  All parking was done
in the grass, which could get really
messy during the rainy season.
Parking in the grass also allowed
the cars to get very close to the
children and the play areas,
creating a dangerous situation.  Our
master plan, conceived by Lance
Brock of Beezer homes, included
an innovative layout for a parking
lot.  Construction of the parking lot
was done in mid 2002 as a
donation from "Beezer Homes"
(Walker Farms), with the labor
provided by "Valenti Held".  The
new lot provides not only  form
and function, but a greater level of
safety for our partons.  The
vehicles are kept clear of all
activity areas, and the center of the
park is opened up to provide more
green space.
